Even if the GAZ Carfactory has been producing cars for over 70 years, it is only a very low number of cars, who were exported to Denmark with zero km on the counter. Import to DK started in 1957 with the Volga model, so the ZIM and the Pobeda was never introduced here. Costumers were mainly Taxi-compagnies, who tested the Volga as an alternative to the normaly used Chevrolet, Ford and Mercedes taxi's. Different importers tried to kick up sales, but it wasn't a succes. Regular import stopped, and for several years less than 10 Volga's were on plates i DK.

To day the number of GAZ cars still is low, less than 10 are with numberplates, and all of them is veterans. Some of these cars came to Denmark , brought by owners moving to Denmark, others are bought as collectors items. GAZ Veteranauto club of Denmark is a private club, started in the spirit of enthusiasm and love for "old cars with a soul and a stubbord will ", and making this homepage is tribute to the GAZ cars, and there owners fighting to keep them running.
